Back in 2008, on a wild impulse and a gut instinct, I decided to give up the seemingly unending chain of dead-end office jobs that had been crushing my soul since collage. I embarked on a journey through creating and maintaining my own business doing what I loved most: Sewing, and Nightengale Needles was born.
Since then, I've been able to maintain both the good fortune and tenacity that allows me to continue to make my passion my livelihood; Nightengale Needles remains my full-time job. I sell my plush and clothing both online, and at anime, gaming, pony, furry, and comic conventions from Maine down to Florida and all the way out to Nebraska. I've even branched out into a few conventions on the West Coast in recent years.
We hope that some of our products can bring that warmth into your home, whether it's a scarf wrapped warm around your shoulders or a plush perched happily on your shelf.
We keep a particular focus on offering LGBTQA+ PRIDE themed items, because some people, ourselves among them, need to know they're not alone when facing the world outside their computer.
If you have any questions about our products, services, or philosophies or a suggestion for what I should make next, please use the contact form linked in the drop-down menu above!
In 2014 I added my partners in life and love, Simon and Trey Yacek, to my business. Trey as my assistant and a Journeyman Seamster in his own right, with Simon taking over Customer Service, Social Media, Website and eShop Management, Inventory, as well as Crafting and Apprentice level sewing.
Please let us introduce you to our handmade goods and in doing so, maybe we can bring some of our philosophy home to your heart: we believe that nobody has to live without joy. That whether it's in your job or your hobbies or your collectibles, joy and warmth of the heart are essential to living a fulfilled and forward-facing life.
