Sleepyhead style was added to our custom plush lineup in Summer 2023, and its launch has been a runaway success! Floppy and soft with an internal packet of bead fill to give them a gentle weight, Sleepyheads are designed to impart just enough soothing pressure to help calm and comfort their owner. They’re bigger than Shoulder Pets by quite a significant degree!

Materials: Sleepyheads are made from Minky, with an internal weight packet and polyester stuffing to fill the rest of the plush. The weight packet is divided into three sections, and filled with either 2.5 lbs of fine glass bead fill or just over 1 lb of plastic pellet bead fill.

Sleepyheads also occasionally use specialty materials as the design requires, such as fleece or specialty furs or minkies. Sleepyheads can also have their closed-eye embroidery customized for the character’s design. 

Pricing: base price is $200 for a design with minimal markings and color changes, which requires minimal extra drafting (such as designing uniquely shaped tails, custom wings, etc). Price increases with design complexity, usually topping out around $500 for very complex designs.

Example: Gale combines several levels of complexity. Most of her body has simple markings and coloration changes. Her face is a bit more detailed, but it’s her spine and tail where the complexity really increases. These feature extensive fleece feathering, and her ears have fur tufts on the tips. These details required specialty patterning and additional effort to create them (particularly the spine/tail).

While her body is relatively simple, her tail and spine are very complex, so in total, Gale displays an above-average degree of complexity.

If Gale were a commissioned plush, she would cost approximately $400.
